Growing up, many of our adventures included our Nana. Nana took us on trips all of the time; some were nearby, trips to Boston or shopping in Kittery. Some were longer trip – Pennsylvania to visit her Aunt Florence, Kentucky to visit with her brother Uncle Allan and his family, and Nova Scotia to stay with her cousins. It was often my sister and I and Nana. Sometime Mum came too (like to Canada). The soundtrack was always the same – the Broadway recording of Annie on tape, and we were often in one of her light blue Volvos. Needless to say, when I think of adventures, I think of Nana.
Trips we went on without Nana always included post cards or letters back to Nana to tell her about our trips and they always started with “Dear Nana,”.
I visited Nana before I left for Malaysia. She said to me “I don’t envy you!” and then added “Actually, I am a little jealous..” Whenever I think about what I want to put in my Blog, I think about what I want to tell Nana about.
